We are happy to inform that RRI has successfully completed one year with all your support, encouragement and help.

 

RRI took birth on 5th of Jan 2009. We started as a small group with 10 friends to serve nation in a small way but today in just a year time RRI has succeed to spread its wing to attain a strong member population of about 100. In this small time we took attempts to spread the dreams of Dr APJ Abdul kalam vision 2020 among so many people and created hormonal relationship.

 

The anniversary concluding day function took placae on sunday, 10-01-10 4-8 pm at Shreyans hall under the presidenship of Shri. Srinivasan, Prime point foundation and moderator of India Vision 2020 and distinquished guests Shri. Senthil Kumar, Regional Director NCVT, Shri. Rajan, Sr. Mangager,HR-training Delphi TVS, Prof.D. Ponnusamy, Programme Director Anna Institute of Management after a week long continuous activities/celebration for our first anniversary as follows:

We planted saplings as a symbol to indicate future prosperity and had lunch with inmates of an old age home, brothers of mine , Thirunandravur.

An awareness on "NO PLASTICS" was done and dustbins have been laid in the irullar colony,Adhigathur.
07 - Jan - 2010
A "CLEAN TEETH" dental awareness program by Dr. Ramesh for classes 6,7,8 and 9 was done and around 70 students were benefitted.

Placing flyers with slogan "DON'T WASTE FOOD" at variour restaurants in Chennai.
09 - Jan - 2010
An awareness campaign on Swine flu and first aid was held in valliammal college , anna nagar from 3 -5pm.

Our major achievements of 2009

  • We have sponsored 7 children and put them in matriculation schools - for their basic education from the Irular community of Adhigarthur (having maximum education of 10 standard fail).

  • We have been supporting a brain dead patient undergoing stem cell technology treatment at a pvt Hospital Chennai.
    •   
  • We conducted a 60 day Eye camp in association with our parent organization AUM Education Seva Trust and Sankara Nethrayala serving the rural areas..
    •   
  • We have conducted three health camps with 400 patients being screened.
    •   
  • We launched our FIRST AID and SWINE FLU AWARENESS CAMPAIGN at various colleges in Chennai.
    •   
  • "Arivalayam" a centre of education was inaugurated (On 28th September)at Athigathur village. Educating 60 children every day.

  • In association with team Everest a Basic computer education program(On 31st October) was organized to the children of the middle school at adhigathur village.
    •   
  • Our next most successful campaign was STOP ( Safe Traffic Obeying Person ) , a road safety campaign in association with CHENNAI CITY TRAFFIC POLICE.

  • We have planted 100 saplings in the year 2009 in pollivakkam high school,along the state highways to thiruvallur and at adhigathur village.

  • We have participated in human chain in accordance with cop15 with summit copahangen .wthe full support from GREEN PEACE, IYCN, WWF, PASUMAI THAYAGAM, AAZARYA. we were successful in creating a human chain of about 250 people participatingat marina beech ,Chennai.
